Step 1: Open the image you're going to apply the effect to. ![]() Step 2: Next, create an new image that's 1 pixel wide by 3 pixels high. ![]() Step 3: Zoom in as much as you can (1200-1600%). Set your foreground color to black, then take the pencil and put a dot in the middle of the image. ![]() Step 4: Next, go to the top menu and select Edit>>Define Pattern. A dialog box will pop up allowing to to name the pattern, if you want. Click OK. ![]() Step 5: Now, go back to your original image. Click on the 'New Layers" icon at the bottom of the layer palette. A new layer will be created. If your layer palette window isn't open, go to the top menu and select Window>>Layers. ![]() Again, go to the top menu, and select Edit>>Fill. For 'Use', choose pattern, then click the triangle next to the custom pattern thumbnail and click on our line pattern. It will be the last one. ![]() Click OK and the new layer will be filled with our black and white pattern. ![]() Step 6: Next, in the Layers palette, change the blending mode from Normal to Multiply. ![]() ![]() Step 7: Finally, lower the opacity to adjust the the effect strength to where ever you like it. I used a setting of 25%. ![]()
