Sepia Glow  Open Printer Version
This is a technique to create a glowing sepia image. It works best with grey scale images with a lot of contrast but these alterations can be applied to any image from the "colours" menu to improve the result of the sepia glow.

Starting Image
  1. First, open your image and make a copy of it by clicking Edit >> Copy.
Then click Edit >> Paste >> As A New Image.
  2. Using the image you just created, click Effects >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur and use 5.00 as the radius setting.
  3. Click Colors >> Colorize and use:
    - Hue: 30
    - Saturation: 255
Note: If you like, play around with the Hue amount to try out different colors.

  4. Activate your first image. IF your original image in color, click Colors >> Grey Scale.
Copy, and paste it as a new layer over the blurred and colorized one. You should now not be able to see the blurred image.

  5. Now, we blend. In the 'Layer Palette' as seen below, click on the 'Blend Mode' and select 'Darken'. Then lower the 'Opacity' to around 80.
